Flux is an installation by Pierce Warnecke and Clément Edouard that tells the story of an imaginary river that has vanished. This kinetic sculpture of suspended rocks is enhanced by a multi-format collection of fictional and narrative documents detailing the origin and eventual depletion of this river.

Through a play of aquatic forms, light, and sound, the rock reveals the memory left behind by water—its fluidity, its speed, and its journey from the mountain peaks down to the sea, passing through the city along the way.

In this way, the installation offers a spatial and temporal compression of the relationship between water and rock, from the granite of the summits to the sand of the deltas. It invites visitors into a sensory and imaginative experience, highlighting the interdependence between humans and their environment.

Clément Édouard

Composer and sound artist Clément Édouard focuses on the nature of sound, its vibrational field and perception, and its relationship with natural spaces and materials, offering listening experiences that are simultaneously imaginary, physical, and internal.

He cultivates a unique relationship with the voice and the subtle, delving into notions of lightness and intensity, presence/absence, and natural/composed echoes. His approach takes the form of an exploration through which he enjoys defining shadows, identifying mysteries, and mapping them out.

After 20 years of instrumental practice and experimentation with the saxophone, he reached a new milestone in 2017 by setting his instrument aside to focus on more personal composition work centered on the voice and highly reverberant spaces. DIX AILES (Three:Four Records/CH) is the realization of this momentum.

His collaboration with sound and visual artist Pierce Warnecke, centered on stone fictions, gave rise to the performance SEDIMENTS (2019) and the kinetic installation FLUX (2021). In 2021, he composed the music for the play PARTIR by Swiss director Jean-Daniel Piguet and collaborated with artist and builder Guillaume Cousin on his new work, "Soudain Toujours."

In 2022, he focused on a personal project, SEUIL (a performance between wakefulness and sleep), which reinterprets his experience with altered states of consciousness (meditation, psychoacoustics, hypnosis), his work with the voice—here featuring a vocal ensemble—and technological development (vibrating sound systems, computer music). SEUIL is a recipient of the SACD-Beaumarchais writing grant and received writing support from the Ministry of Culture. He will also compose the music for the choreographic piece ESSAIMER by choreographer Margot Dorléans.
