Workshop / installation where analog-manual sculpture and virtual worlds are part of a ritual feedback loop in which artificial intelligence, human artistic interpretation, and the rudimentary / evolving discourse of virtual golem-agents become intertwined.
To be developed with art students, in which we will examine and reflect on the implications of programming matter, post-humanism, the body in the digital age, and the use of natural language as an interface to produce various media such as images and 3D renders within the field of Artificial Intelligence.
Following the Golem analogy and the reflections mentioned above, students will develop prompts to create images (Midjourney, Stable Diffusion, etc.) and draw inspiration to sculpt their own Golems using clay and other materials. The analog Golems will be scanned using photogrammetry techniques, preserving the scan's imperfections, and animated within a virtual world developed specifically for this residency.
Day 1: Theory and experimentation
Day 2: Production with clay + sound recordings
Day 3: Production and digitization
Student message/text after reflection on technology → image on a text-to-image AI service → sculpture inspired by the image → digitization of the sculpture → sculpture in the virtual world → Golem creates a message in the virtual world → students create a sculpture based on the Golem's message.
The installation includes the real-time development of the workshop, the students' Golem sculptures, a virtual environment, and a generative sound piece.
Once sculpted, the scanned Golems come to life inside a virtual world built in Unreal Engine. They will perform several activities guided by rudimentary artificial intelligence behaviors. One of the most important involves developing a basic generative language from a simplified grammar to produce words, sentences, and, ultimately, prompts that will be used by students to create further Golems.
Generative procedural sound will bridge the analog and digital worlds by providing a data-driven analog approach to the physical sculpture work and the work within the virtual world where the Golems perform.

A Mexican researcher, experimental writer, and new media artist who merges language with audiovisual phenomena, web development, electronic art, algorithmic literature, and robotics.
His work explores communication between human and non-human agents, robot-human interaction, and various methods for encoding perception and storytelling through technology.
He aims to bring together code, narrative, and culture. In his view, writing is a performative process that creates meaningful scenarios in which humans and machines participate together in the creation and negotiation of meaning as an interactive experience.
