For the ZERO Festival, Paloma Marquez presents "Certezas litológicas," a series of three works belonging to LithoTechArt, an artistic genre she is currently developing and researching. This series explores the Earth's cycles, natural processes, and their metaphorical relationship to human presence within the system, utilizing light flows through translucent rocks, artificial erosion, and micro-mapping within the stone. The works aim to express the metaphor of the Earth's ancient and ongoing natural cycles in relation to humanity, from a lithocentric and nature-respecting perspective.

Paloma Marquez

An artist who adopted Chilecito as her home, where she created her first drawings and compositions. Growing up in this arid city surrounded by mountains, she studied music and beekeeping, trained as a visual arts teacher, and was introduced to contemporary art by observing her mother, Alicia Alba.

After finishing high school, she moved to Buenos Aires to study audiovisual arts at the National University of Lanús. Upon her arrival, she was awarded the ProyectArte scholarship, which provided intensive training with top-tier artists and, through the foundation, the opportunity to exhibit her work internationally. She was also part of the School of Projects at the Isidro Miranda gallery.

From 2012 to 2017, she worked as an assistant to photographer Jorge Roiger and painters Daniel Corvino and Eugenio Cuttica.

She is currently working on her master's thesis in electronic arts at UNTreF while continuing to develop her work in visual, sound, and new media art.
