A second or a lifetime: how long will it take for us to truly meet? With Unexpected Dating, artist-researchers Syd and Narimane offer a series of three performances exploring the complexity of our relationship with time. Caught between acceleration and stagnation, control and uncertainty, they invite you to an unconventional rendezvous in a supermarket, at the port of La Rochelle, or in a café.

These performance-encounters challenge our daily rhythms and existential anxieties. Each space becomes a testing ground where waiting, decision-making, and the unexpected collide. Can choosing a yogurt become a dizzying experience? Does the uncertainty of an encounter reveal our deepest doubts?

By sharing a moment with an unknown outcome, we examine our connection to others and to temporality itself. An experience at the crossroads of philosophy and performance art.

This is a series of off-site performances based on the element of surprise. The exact location and time of the meeting are only communicated to participants at the last minute via SMS. For example, it might look like: "Fruit yogurt aisle, Leclerc Sautel, 3:28:13 PM." This process is an integral part of the performance itself!
