This installation, presented at the ZERO1 Festival, is merely the first stage of Marianne Vieulès's work. A poetic essay attempting to situate the birth of computer science within the history of literature, it features a confrontation between two artificial intelligences, each fed with the texts of Ada Lovelace and Lord Byron, respectively. In real time, they sketch out a discussion that never took place during their lifetimes between history's first programmer and her father, the English Romantic poet.
Marianne Vieulès is a French visual artist who lives and works near Bordeaux. Her practice blends digital arts, installations, sculpture, video, electronics, and programming. She creates narratives that sit between science and fiction, focusing on themes such as space exploration, technology, and the history of computing, often with a playful and humorous approach.
