The Time It Takes is a research and design project led by Thomas Meunier, a fifth-year student at Strate School of Design. Through his thesis, he explores the impact of acceleration on the perception of time and the quest for "the right time." This project offers an interactive exploration of slowing down as a response to the tyranny of the present, drawing inspiration from authors such as Hartmut Rosa and Michel de Certeau. The collaborative workshop showcases prototypes derived from his research to imagine objects and practices that embody intentional slowing. The goal is to demonstrate how design can transform our relationship with time and promote more balanced rhythms of life.

Thomas Meunier

Thomas Meunier, 25, is a fifth-year student at Strate School of Design in Lyon. A deep thinker and avid reader, he is resistant to digital tools and overly advanced technologies—a paradox for a designer. A former high-level athlete, he keeps sports as a constant in his life.
