Tempo e Tempo dives into the hypnotic flow of hundreds of open-access cameras, capturing the real-time metamorphosis of skies, oceans, forests, deserts, and glaciers across the globe. These electronic eyes, scattered across the internet, record the tangible signs of a planetary upheaval.
Designed by Luiz Zanotello, an algorithm compiles and choreographs these images into a visual symphony, revealing hidden patterns and unsettling synchronicities. Between scientific observation and digital poetry, the work transforms these streams into a meditation on time: the past (archived data), the present (live feeds), and the future (algorithmic predictions) intertwine, blurring chronological boundaries.
Is it a map of climate change? A technological prophecy? Tempo e Tempo provides no answers, but invites us to contemplate the unsettling beauty of a world in transition, where every pixel becomes an omen.
Luiz Zanotello is a Brazilian artist, researcher, and educator who explores the concept of translation—whether spatial, linguistic, or digital—through transmedia installations. Zanotello’s work aims to provoke new imaginaries in our era, which is centered on the constant documentation of the present.
