What if slowing down was the key? Mindfulness has emerged as a universal remedy today—but is it a therapeutic tool, a spiritual practice, or just a passing trend? In this lecture and meditation session, Grüber explores the paradoxes of this practice, bridging the gap between Buddhist tradition and modern adaptation. How does an ancient discipline fit into our fast-paced lives?

From its historical roots to its new secular forms, Gauthier Grüber will analyze mindfulness from both a philosophical and scientific perspective. Then, through a guided meditation, he will invite the audience to experience its calming potential. This is an immersive experience that is both critical and practical, designed to examine the role of mindfulness in slowing down and transforming our lives.

Gauthier Grüber

Gauthier Grüber is a lecturer at the University of La Rochelle, having previously taught in secondary education for many years. While his primary research field is medieval literature, he also practices mindfulness, both personally and professionally, by incorporating breathing rituals. These exercises have led him to explore the reception and integration of Buddhist practices within teaching and research.
