Pulsations
2013: Sound installation
Artists: Scenocosme - Grégory Lasserre & Anaïs met den Ancxt
Pulsations is a sound installation featuring a living tree. The entire body of the tree resonates here. The vibrational sound can only be heard and felt by placing your ear or body against the trunk. This heartbeat-like respiration offers a sensitive, organic, and soothing experience.
The tree serves as a symbol of the body, both in its outer shell and its inner substance. The bark is the tree's skin, much like our own, acting as a surface that is simultaneously protective and fragile. Tracing its winding patterns is an invitation to explore its inner sensations and intimacy, serving as a mirror to our own physical being.
The artist duo Scenocosme consists of Grégory Lasserre and Anaïs met den Ancxt. They repurpose various technologies to create contemporary artworks. They explore the concept of interactivity, where the work exists and evolves through the physical and social engagement of the audience. Their pieces are exhibited in numerous museums, contemporary art centers, and digital art festivals around the world.
