Obscured Variants are based on an abstract language model created by a machine, utilizing all existing human signs. This system transfers and recreates these signs using a machine-learned model, generating latent points for precise character representation and enabling interpolation between them. This leads to an infinite number of characters between any two distinct ones, thereby revealing obscured variants. These variants suggest a universal language without binary transition, represented by static three-dimensional objects resulting from the interpolation between the latent points of the selected models.
Andreas Lutz's work explores the human-machine relationship with the goal of creating integrated and universal communication systems. Within these boundaries, he analyzes and reveals phenomena of perception in relation to reality and the principles of abstract aesthetics through sculptures, installations, and performances. The creation of experimental soundscapes and the relationship between semiotics and sound are other aspects of his work.
