Ito Meikyū is a virtual reality experience built around references from the history of art and Japanese literature, unfolding as a vast sensory fresco with strong emotional impact. A heterogeneous collection of drawn, animated, and sound-based scenes is embedded in digital matter, recreating a subjective world—both inner and outer—in the form of a labyrinth made of fractal architectures, inhabited by plants, objects, animals, men and women, motifs, and calligraphy. This walkable virtual space lets visitors access different scenes through the chance of their own choices, setting in motion a kind of hide-and-seek with a universe whose center positions us as an omniscient, voyeuristic observer.
